The First Steps

Today begins the path toward my goal. Today I began packing to take my turn before the Elders. Yes, I am nervous. Who would not be? These are the wise ones, these are the leaders of our Clans. The Ubar's own chosen. Of course I am nervous. It does not mean I doubt my worth. It does not mean I doubt my abilities. It means that I am about to meet many new people, and I know that they will be watching every move waiting for a missed step or falter. That is the nature of this process.

Every journey begins with the first steps. Without the courage to take that step the destination can not be reached. I am not going to worry about the destination right now. The journey is the important part. I will learn. I will become wiser, stronger, and better. I am sure I will be tested in ways I can't even imagine yet. I look forward to the challenges. I have never been one to falter in the face of adversity. My life has been filled with its fair share. What Tuchuk's has not?
